I have a bathtub that sits on an elevated platform (6-ish inches) for drain pipe reasons.
It was a rental, trying to get the house ready for sale. A (non-plumbing) contractor says I cannot have a step in front of a bathtub.
If I read the code correctly, a clear space of 21" (if I remember correctly) is required on front of a tub. I have about 16", then a step.
Question: Do the 21" clear space need to be level, or can there be a step?
If no step allowed, I am thinking I could build it out and move the step forward to create a larger platform with more level space directly in front of the tub. Would that solve the issue?
