Hi - I removed the 1987 shower tub from a log cabin. Per attached photos, the framing is irregular with 24-inch on center 2x6 back wall, irregular spacing of studs on left wall, and logs with no framing between corners on the right wall. The installation manuals all specify 16-inch on center framing, which is not possible here.

I'm thinking of installing the new alcove tub by attaching the tub flange to the existing studs on the back and left wall, and adding a block and shims to the center of the log wall (right wall).

Is that a bad idea? Are warranties void if it's not attached to 16-inch OC framing? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks - Dan
