Hey Guys,

Years ago when I was researching radiant floor heating, I remember reading that it was possible to keep the house decently cool by running cold water through the system. My girlfriends house has an hold boiler system with baseboard radiators and a couple old school radiators. I was wondering if it is possible and/or efficient to make this system at least help cool the house, so the window shakers aren't working as hard...I'm trying to talk her into adding a mini split instead of the window shakers, but even if that doesn't have to work as hard with the radiators assisting, that'd be great if it is efficiently worthwhile. My thoughts are that maybe it's not worth it because with radiant floor heat, there is a lot more surface area of cool water running through so it is reasonably feasible, and that maybe there isn't enough surface area to cool much air with just radiators...looking for some thoughts from folks much more experienced than myself.

Thank You,

Eric

Look up chilled beams. The problem with using heating emitters or chilled beams have to stay above dew point because there no way you can have condensate sweating over everything. Can you do it yes with the proper controls. Comfort cooling
