Hello there,
We are in contract with a 300 acre property but are worried about water. There is no well and we have very little knowledge of geology. We were wondering if anyone could give us a general idea of what water situation we might find when drilling. As you can see there are small 8000 ft. peaks within 20 mi range, and we have 2 small areas in the bottoms of either arroyo, if all that makes a difference. There is also a grove on the property with much more dense tree growth, if that is relevant. X marks the property. There is a second, different topo map also. Is it as simple as picking the lowest spot on the property? Naturally, its easier to pump the water uphill above ground. Anyway, any opinions are much appreciated. Thank you.

Talk to a local driller. The formation underground can be just as varied as the earth surface above it, and can be in reverse order. I just talked to a guy from NC who lives down in a valley with a 120' deep water well when his neighbor up on a hill hit water at 30'.
