I have an autotrol valve installed right now with inlet on the left side. I am not sure if that is correct but the valve broke anyway. This system was working good softening the water. My main shut off and water heater are on the left side, if I face the softener. I want to install this fleck system now. Do I have to cross the loop for the inlet and outlet since flecks inlet is on the right side? I have attached a picture of my valve from the front top. Please let me know. Also, what is this connection to the copper tube with the plastic. Can I buy the fleck system and be able to make this connection?

On another question, is there a better softener system than fleck 5600?

Yes. Opposite sides between Fleck and Autotrol.

Corrugated stainless flex lines can make the connection easier.

You probably mean 5600SXT. The 5600SXT is a good softener, but many prefer the 5810 SXT or 5800SXT.

How do you switch and cross and connect? Any help will be appreciated.
