I am having reliability issues programming the NOMA iQ iOS app. So far, I've not found any online community that supports the app. It looks like I will have to rely on phone support.

I am trying to set up the iOS app on my phone to schedule the dehumidifier (CTC #043-8820-8) to run only during the HydroOne off-peak times from 7 PM to 7 AM and cannot get the app to work reliably. The app sometimes doesn't start or stop.

The app also has other inconsistencies and sometimes crashes. I gave up on the "End" section and created a second Experience to stop the dehumidifier but it does not work consistently either.

On the Experiences page note that while the use of the % character is allowed in the name "ON40%", it is forbidden on the name "ON-7pm-40%".

While editing an Experience, the time and days on the "End" section are not kept and keep changing. Likewise on the other fields.

Here's a timer with battery backup good for 30 amps. Mounts on a small piece of Din rail in a plastic box. Backup for a power outage and contacts that are heavy duty.
You tube has lots of videos on NOMA iQ™

The last two days it was on its best behavior since I have not interacted with any saved shortcuts on the Experiences page. My guess is that the invoking the shortcut messes up the in-progress schedule as it acts on it right away and not when scheduled. Also guessing that editing the "End" section while the schedule is underway messes it up.

That was short-lived. Last Sunday we had a scheduled power outage that ended at 5:15 PM but at 7 PM the dehumidifier failed to come on and had to be manually started. It shut off in the morning automatically on schedule and also resumed the schedule Monday at 7 PM. Then again last evening it failed to start but this time there was no power interruption to attribute it to and I did not manually start it. Time will tell if it starts this evening.

Well, phone support was useless. While the dehumidifier is a portable unit, unplugging it messes it up so it is lousy programming. Even if I don't move and unplug the unit, if there is a power blip, one cannot rely on the program recovering.

I use a an electromechanical timer switch for my dehumidifier.

Not a good choice if your power is out frequently. That may be your main motivation in choosing something electronic... keeps time if the electricity is out for a while.

I think you're not thinking it through. The unit does NOT have a mechanical power switch. If it loses its brains when power fails, when the power returns, it does not turn on and has to be manually turned back on. There is no point having a timer that removes power from the unit.

Ahh... My dehumidifier turns back on when power is restored. If the unit will not turn back on when power is restored, that would seem to make the job pretty hard. I guess you could tap into the humidistat wiring and control that.

Mine resumes the state that it was in when the power failed do if it was off at the time it stays off.
My dehumidifier has an on/off button, and I leave that on. If there is power available, the humidistat controls the fan and compressor when I have left the button on.

Come cooler weather, the compressor does not run much.

I bought this dehumidifier to use down in my crawlspace and I want to control it on my iPhone without having to go down in the crawlspace. Most of the time the crawlspace is cool enough and has very few air changes so it doesn't need to run very often.

The humidistat in the unit does not read very accurate when the unit's fan is off. I am considering mounting a small 12V fan to blow air onto the humidistat so I can get more accurate readings when the unit is off.

I think my unit turns on its fan periodically for that reason.
