My single handle shower valve is only five years old but it's making a grinding/squeaking sound when the handle is turned. I'm afraid it's something in the cartridge that's failing. The problem, I can't find a brand name.
The cover only says "GREEN" (all caps) and a shield below that with UPC in diagonal lettering below. Other than H and C in very dim gray lettering there's nothing else on the cover. I've removed the cover and can't find any brand identifier on the valve. I'm hoping someone can steer me toward a brand or part number based on photos. I'm guessing the front end simply unscrews to reveal the cartridge but I'm afraid to take it apart without a replacement in hand.
