Hello. we have a 2-1/2" flow well that feeds into an aeration tank. Then it goes to the pump, pressure tank, water softener, then house. My problem is while using the hose, the aeration tank gets drained down to the point where the pump sucks air. My question is, should I add a pump prior to the aeration tank to increase the flow? Thanks John

Your well just isn't flowing enough to keep up with the demands. Yes, adding a pump to fill the aerator should increase the amount of water you can get from the well. A float switch in the aeration tank can turn the new pump on and off as needed.
