Good Evening,

I’m trying to update the hardware in my tub/shower combo. (The house was built in 1952). It has a 3-valve compression diverter stem. I figure/know that the only way to use newer hardware would be with the use of an adapter. I’m not sure if that is a thing as google can be quite fickle. Replacing the valve is not possible. I’m pretty sure the stem is an American Standard #6423. Can someone confirm my thoughts and then inform me if there is anything like an adapter possible. Thank you.

Hard to be sure with out seeing the entire stem removed from the wall ... Looks like old American Standard with the barrels on the back end of the stems...Im not aware of any decorative options for this.... just original equipment ....here is a master repair kit from plumbmaster #39695....
Good luck
