5810XTR2 worked fine for 2 years the started beeping. When beeping stopped screen went blank. Not been able to activate screen even after disconnecting power hoping for a reset. How to test etc. would be helpful.

The instructions for my 7000SXT are probably similar to yours, so I'll share what my manual states.
Check that the transformer is putting out 24 volts AC. If the transformer is functioning properly, drain the super capacitor on the circuit board (short it out to prevent getting shocked). Unplug the unit and press the reset button on the circuit board. Plug the unit back in and the display should be restored. Here is the manual for your unit: Fleck 5810 manual
