Issues with CSV and GPM issues (may be unrelated)

Had to have a new well drilled (pump was only a year old so used in new well). Driller guessed at 12gpm, so I ran with a new softener and iron filter as the Kinetico was at least 25 years old and tired. All seemed to work fine but just a couple weeks after I installed filters, the pressure...

    Fleck 2510sxt question

I am starting to think that the CSV may not be set correctly or there is a blockage somewhere in the system. I removed the 5 micron as you suggested and bypassed the spindowns. Started a backwash cycle and got the same thing. One gage reads 25 and the other increased slightly to 15.

    Fleck 2510sxt question

I will try that, thank you. I just ran several fixtures and watched pressure. Both gages sit at about 40 with any faucet, toilet, etc. When I run backwash, gage before filters is 25 and gage after filters is 10.

    Fleck 2510sxt question

Sorry for confusion, was not looking for any analysis, was just trying to show that I am trying to combat a relatively minor issue and a proportional pump may not be necessary. I checked water temp after the softener recharged and got 10.8c. Had the day off today so I plumbed a pressure gage...

    Fleck 2510sxt question

Yes it is a CSV. Never thought about the flow with the CSV. Before and after are now the same. With just a pressure tank I was getting 16gpm before tank and variable by fixture after tank. Wouldn't the CSV actually help (albeit slightly) with BW? If I read the chart correctly, with 2ft resin...

    Fleck 2510sxt question

The constant pressure valve has a small pressure tank (5 gal) attached to it. Intent of the valve is to reduce pump cycling by letting it run the entire time water is called for. Once the pressure tank is depleted the valve keeps the pump on until water is shut off. I have yet to plumb in a...

    Reverse Osmosis System

I know this doesn't quite fit in the softener thread but didn't know where else to put it. Need to purchase a new RO and need thoughts on which system to buy. I am on a well and will have new softener, KL filter and H2O2, so I will be giving the RO pretty decent water to start. Am not...

    H2O2 Injection Questions

Will be setting up my new water treatment system soon and have a couple questions regarding the use of H2O2. Setting the system up and getting to the proper PPM seems to be fairly straightforward but it is hard to find any detailed information about the use of H2O2. 1) Other than cost and...

Advice on replacement and additional equipment

Incomplete test results are in. NTL was down for a couple days due to weather so I should have the complete results by next Wednesday. Here is what we have thus far. Calcium 83.3 mg/l Copper 0.072 mg/l Iron 3.04 mg/l Lithium 0.026 mg/l Magnesium...

    To go tankess or not

I know this thread has been dead awhile, but I will throw in my 2 cents. When we bought our house 6 years ago the water heater was dead so I replaced it with a Bosch tankless and don't regret the decision at all. We are on propane and a well so the heater had to be ordered as such. Think it...

Advice on replacement and additional equipment

Sending water sample to NTL hopefully tomorrow, so I will post results when they come in. Been doing more research about either a chlorine or peroxide dosing solution and came across a product that we actually use where I work. It is a dosing unit that works from line pressure and is...

Advice on replacement and additional equipment

Appreciate the advice, Bannerman, but I am not even sure if a tankless heater has an anode and since the water temp is only maintained on demand, I'm not sure if raising the temp will do much. The problem with any sort of well sanitizing is that our well is an "artisan" or live well. Water...

Advice on replacement and additional equipment

I have a tankless water heater, not sure if that makes a difference. As far as the pellet system, I was more concerned with not having the space. Adding the contact tank and backwashing filter add to the footprint, if I now add a solution tank I will have to take space away from my wifes...

Advice on replacement and additional equipment

From time to time we get the rotten egg smell coming from the hot water, this last time prompted me to buy a test kit from HD to do some rudimentary water testing. I knew that we have high hardness, iron, manganese and the sulfur/rotten egg smell but wasn't sure of the levels. Don't have the...

    well question

This may not be the correct thread for this post, but none seem to fit. We have a flowing or artisan well that has slowed down considerably. As soon as the weather breaks our well guy is coming out to diagnose and repair. When repaired the well should flow around 30 GPM. This just seems...
