    Am I this dumb?

I'll get one of those today or tomorrow - makes complete sense. I have a hydrant in my barn off the same pump, but runs from the pump, not through the house, and that pressure is fantastic. Does the number of elbows in a water line significantly impact the pressure .. just wondering?

    Am I this dumb?

Yup, all opened all the way. That is a good question - I have wondered why my car wouldn't start in the past and scoffed when my wife asked if it had gas ... You know the rest of that story.

    Am I this dumb?

It does. While washing laundry it cycled twice, Kicked on at about 38 or 39, then kicked off at 61 or so.

    Am I this dumb?

Don't answer that ... but maybe answer this: Just installed new Waterworker 20 gallon pressure thank with 38 psi. New 40/60 switch. Pressure is now worse than. I have an ancient water softener, which I'll likely replace soon, but even with the bypass pressure is bad. Thoughts?

Pump cycling only when water running

Thanks for responding. Water off, gauge at 45. Nothing happening. Turn one bathroom faucet on and in 10 seconds drops to 20, and kicks back on and back up to 50 in two seconds.

Pump cycling only when water running

In the last 24 hours, only when water is running does my pump cycle from 50 to 20. This link shows the gauge . I did clean out a water filter and softener filter. Tank pressure at 45 lbs. What's next?

Thanks, Bannerman, my error. Since my stroke, I'm not as sharp as I was ... or thought I was! Take care.

    Well Pressure switch

I added 18 psi with air compressor and the tank now reads 35. The pressure is still too low, so I'll likely up the range soon. I guess it's conceivable that there are pressure-reducing issues with my water softener and elsewhere, right?

    Well Pressure switch

Sounds empty maybe a third of the way up. Will add air now. If I decide to up pressure range (large nut) I assume I have to add more air to tank? Sorry - hid the sizing a few posts ago: HT-20B 20 Gal Tank/42Gal Equiv Inbox clicked and on top of list for consideration - thanks.

    Well Pressure switch

Tank emptied five gallons on the nose; pressure gauge AND pressure on tank now read 0, though when I press the nipple just the slightest air escapes.

    Well Pressure switch

I won't have time until later this morning, but correct me if I'm wrong, the next steps are as before, turn off power, close valve to house, drain tank, check pressure in tank. Presumably, the tank should read 18 psi, and if not I add or release air until it does?

    Well Pressure switch

So, tomorrow ... with water pressure at zero, check tank?

    Well Pressure switch

At this point, new with and 20/40 gauge appear to be working. Tank now registers about 31 PSI. Should I increase to 38 and cross fingers?

    Well Pressure switch

I wondered why it had a HP reference, but assumed that was specs for it. Yes, I'm that much of a dope! Of course, the words "Submersible Deep Well pump" should have given it away ... These help?
