Garbage disposal 3-tab locking ring stuck

Need to reseat garbage disposal but I can't get the 3-tab locking ring to budge. I've tried everything. I remember when I installed it, I used channel locks to tighten the last bit. Don't know if that has any bearing but thought I should throw it out there. It's been less than a year since I...

Looking for 1 extremely strong toilet that will swallow whatever our GI tracts produce + 2 good toilets. All need to be standard height & elongated.

I've had Toto and Kohler over the past ~5 years in different homes, but the one that stands out by far is American Standard Champion IV (although it may have a different name by now), widely available and I think any combo of bowl shape and height. You have to be sure it's that one as Am Std has...

slope stressing drain pipes at fittings

I have to redo the drain plumbing in the kitchen. Going to use slip joint plastic pipes. I have section about 18" and I'm concerned if I slope that properly it will stress the end fittings and maybe come loose over time. Should I be concerned or is there enough adjustment built in?

    TERRY LOVE CELEBRATION OF LIFE

I'm a run of the mill homeowner and have been an infrequent user of the site over the past several years. Terry and his followers have bailed (pardon the pun) me out several times. I truly appreciate it, Terry, and the site. I'm so sorry that Terry has died. He did so much good. My condolences...

Non-plastic 1/4 turn stop for fridge water supply line

I contacted Brasscraft, and they did not mention KTCR09 so I purchased a Dahl 621-33-30, $19 delivered from Supply House. So I started this project today and totally got stuck. It was a heck of a fight to remove the old valve. The threading looks different from the new Dahl, and the Dahl will...

Does the shutoff that I want exist?

Hi Terry, I got one of those, perfect! The valve came in 2 parts. The valve side appears to have an O-ring inside near the bottom of the nut. Is that what makes the seal and/or do I teflon tape the joint as normal? Thanks.

New lavatory drains-plastic or brass-hard water

Time to install new drain assemblies in bathroom sinks. We do have hard water. Is plastic or brass/chrome preferable or maybe unobtanium:)? Is there a lifetime difference? I want these to outlast me.

Does the shutoff that I want exist?

Please see attached pic. Don't know if this was Moe, Larry, or Curly, but yes the shutoff handle is unable to turn because of interference with toilet. I want to fix before I need it. I have a new 1/4-turn valve that is shorter, and will just about fit, but I'm wondering if there is a valve with...

Repair Watts 70 mixer?-shut off water

I have oil fired tankless hot water. The boiler is about 165 F and pressure is 25-30 psi. Our tap hot water is 145-155 F. No matter what I do to the mixer valve (Watts 70A), it doesn't change so I guess I need to repair valve. Kit looks like about $35. There is a valve in cold water line that...
