Moen shower valve with IPS threading

a little help please!
can threaded copper fittings be used on a Moen 2510 IPS shower valve with teflon tape and pipe dope

Yes, three wraps of tape with some pipe dope smeared over it.
I prefer to solder the adapter to copper pipe first, and then thread them on after they cool.
You can also solder after they are threaded on, but I've had better luck if I don't heat the fittings with tape on them.
