I am with everyone else and I would want the drain to be 2" if it was my house or if I performred the work on it. But i just wanted to add that it depends what code your local jurisdiction has adopted and is enforcing, as under a certain code 1-1/2" shower drains are perfectly legal and so is the use of 1-1/2" DWV under slab construction.
