Two different situations.
1. Black pipe is never used for water, period.
2. Pipe which has been used for gas, even if galvanized, cannot be reused for water piping.
: I have a home inspection business and have run into a couple of remodels were black gas pipe was used to supply water to a bathroom...... ONe owner told me this was to code!
: Just to double check, black gas pipe is never okay to use for water lines........right?
