: I'm renovating my bathroom in an older high-rise building. About 2 weeks ago a new acrylic tub was installed (brand = "Hytec - a Kohler Company").
: After about 1-1/2 weeks the tub suddenly developed a significant creaking sound when I step in. I discussed this with the plumbing company that did the installation, and was told that it is quite common for acrylic tubs to settle or warp after installation.
: The plumber is returning this week for some other work, and they told me that they will try to shim under the tub with lead shims (the wall opening at the drain end from the adjacent room is still open).

Setting acrylic in mortar is required in many installation instructions. I do it regardless.
