: The Sterlings are my preferred also. You can use a wall kit with a window. Make sure you have one with a flat back wall and no bar or indentation where the window is located. The surround goes behind the window trim and you keep the wood coated with polyurethane. LonnythePlumber
Interesting. My windows was actually inserted from the outside wall. There is a 1/2" gap between the 2x4 and the windows frame when your looking at the exposed wall from the inside. It was previous titled by putting 2 sheets of greenboard and then tile on top of it. This gave the thickness to get it up to the edge of the window and then tile against it. Would this setup work with a surround?
The link below has a picture of the window. The white on the frame is grout from lack of cleanup from the previous tile install.
