: When water is being used in the house (i.e. shower, etc) the air pressure in the pressure tank is dropping so rapidly that the 30/50 pressure switch is turning on the cistern pump about every ten seconds, instead of every 10 minutes or so (during shower). The switch shuts off at the correct max pressure. I tried replacing the pressure switch and that did not correct the problem. Pressure is held when water is shut off, rapid drops only occur when water is being used. Do I need to replace pressure tank? : Marc Check the air pressure in the tank, it should be 2 psi below the cut-in point of the pump. (when tank empty) Hube
