I wonder if you can find anything that will make modern code. More to your question, what you have have to mate up with a modern toilet is a flange that connects to the drain. Modern toilets are attached to flanges that center 12" (a few 10") from the finished back wall. Code requires 15" from the center of the drain to each side wall. There may be exceptions when replacing an ancient fixture in an existing room that does not meet code, check with your local inspectors. Perhaps some of the pro plumber will respond with more information, but you may have a real problem.
