Just installed an ejector pump. (2" discharge into 4" sewer line) I have approximately 7 feet of lift, then 2 feet horizontally to the sewer line. I installed a check valve in the horizontal section, as I was told NOT to install it vertically because solids may prevent it from opening. When the pump stops, check closes with a thud and rattles the pipes, also any water remaining in the pipes drains back into the pit. 1) Is there a quieter valve out there, and 2) any other options to prevent backflow into the pit? |
