|In response to Re: exterior water line|
: i have a detached garage about 35' behind my house. i'd like to run a water line to the garage for a hose bib, etc...please advise. what kind of material? diameter? frost issues (i live in maryland - bot. of footing req'd is 30"). i can tie into a cold water line through the exposed part of my basement wall on the house.
Most of MD has a serious problem with water quality caused pinholes in copper tubing so I would suggest a 100' coil of 160 or 200 psi rated PE tubing. That's the black or blue stuff used for wells in your area.
The frost line in MD will be less than 36" but check with your extension office or any excavator that does water line work there.
