: Check the failed flexy and see what approvals it has, as many are imported and thus NOT LEGAL under the better codes and you can go after the installer to at least pay for damages like clean up MOLD that may have been caused by faulty workmanship or defective materials.
You will find in all big box store that the largest selection of valves and supplies do not have the IAPMO seal (looks like a shield) or any other markings showing that the product has a code approval.
You will find these markings on the boxes or labels of the higher priced items. BUT there will not be as large selection or supply because of the cost.
Check the label of fluidmaster lines then look at the cheaper ones next to them. They look the same, but the label on the fluid master will have the code approval seals.
