: OK - we have a remodel going on and the concrete subfloor around the shower is being broken up - we plan on tiling the entire shower, floor and all. The term hot mop has been bandied about - is it necessary? Can't I buy a reasonable equivalent at Home Depot to seal the concrete, or can I use green board? Aaaargh! Thank you! When we install a lead pan on bare concrete we use bitumen either hot or cold applied depending on ventilation to prevent moisture from getting between the lead and concrete/wood flooring. Sometimes this is the term used as "hot mopping" you can possibly use flashing cement as a damp proofing agent. |
