We could really use your advice. When a room was added on to our house, the contractor severed a clay septic pipe. He said that it did not appear to be the main drain pipe and only covered it up. We live on the bottom of a mountain that probably was a creek bed thousands of years ago. Also a very active spring routes into our clay soil yard. The septic system has been drained twice in four years, but we still get an odor in our basement (one in awhile) through the professionally installed inside french drain system. We are having the yard dug up to improve the mountain runoff, but what advice could you please offer for the questionable broken septic pipe? Would a camera inspection give us an answer?
