Securing a squeaky wall mount Toliet carrier

To eliminate the squeak from my wall mount toilet, I am considering cutting out the tile wall between the 4 mounting bolts. I should be able to secure the carrier, secure 4 backing nuts to the mounting bolts, and then re-mount my toilet. Will this work? I'm conerned about having the wall removed between the 4 mounting studs, or is this the way a wall mounted toilet and carrier should be installed? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
