In response to Re: Vent Manifold
: : : To repair some fire damage, we had new roof trusses, sheeting and composition roof installed. The existing vents (five 2" vents) were cut off before demo of existing roof. The roofing contractor installed two 3" roof jacks near the peak (heavy snow country) to handle the venting. My question is: Can five 2" vents manifold into two 3" vents through the roof?
: : : Thanks in advance.

: : There is only about 1-1/2 sq in difference between 5 2" vents and 2 3" vents. I am sure that this should cause no problems. Running 3" vents near the peak is the most important thing in snow country.

: So 3 2" (9+ sq. in.) into 1 3" (7+ sq. in.) is
: ok? I'm just trying to make sure I don't need to have another roof jack installed.

I wouldn't worry about it. A 3" roof vent can carry 84 fixture units (UPC code)...you don't have that many.
