: I have an old gas water heater with a pilot light that goes out. It can be re-lighted, but goes out in a day or two. I've read that it's probably a thermocouple, but I've also seen something about a "spill switch". What is and where is the spill switch? How do I know if the problem is the thermocouple or the spill switch?
