|In response to Re: Upstairs Bathroom Floor|
: I'm installing a drop in whirlpool tub upstairs. My floor joists are 2x12 16"oc, spanning 12 feet. My tub is 60"x42"x20" (67 gal.). The documentation that came with it says that with water, the weight of the tub itself (130 lbs.), an average person, and the wood for the frame, would be about 940 lbs, or 54 psf.
: If I put it in the spot I want, it will span across 4 joist, next to an exterior wall. Does anyone know if it is too much weight for the floor?
