The anode rod should be on the top towards the rear, but after 31 years it will probably be so tight that you may cause the tank to leak by twisting it while trying to remove the anode. Besides, after 31 years there is no anode left.
: and we are getting smelly water.Its a 80 gallon electric and Ive searched all over it fot the anode rod.Anyone familiar with this particular model ?I dont know If I ever associated the smell with the Hot water tank before reading this board but now I do and I want to fix it..next will be a discussion on RO units Thanks Jon
