: I'm building a bar in my basement and want to put in a small sink to wash glasses and have water available. I don't think a sinkable sewage ejector is necessary and wondered if it was possible to avoid venting in smaller models as space is scarce. Could you tell me this and everything else you know about installing a sewage ejector.
Both the bar sink and the drain pump will need to be vented. It makes no difference if it is large or small. It still operates on the same principal and NEEDS a vent. If you do not have space to do this, do not put the sink in, it will not drain properly, as hj has already stated.
You do not want or need to know everything I know about installing a sewage ejector and I do not have time. You do not, however, need a sewage ejector for a bar sink. A small drain pump will do fine, but make absolutely sure you vent it. They do not work with auto vents.
I would suggest that you do this right or not at all.
