: I'm movig a gas line in a Southern california home and I was woundering if I could use galvanized for a couple of pieces? It would be a 3" and 6" nipple that would connect with black iron and a brass value. Any help will be greatly appreciate. Reply: Galvanized nipples are steel nipples coated with zinc, so if you don't mind how it looks it's acceptable to do. Keep in mind that all gas work; new or relocating should be filed, inspected and approved. Have the installer double and triple check all joints. e-plumber
