In response to Re: Moving washer and dryer
: I want to move my washer and dryer to a new location in my basement. they only problem I see is how would I hook up my washing machine drain? In the location I want to put my washer I see the drain pipe (which i think is the waste drain pipe) coming out of the concrete floor. If i take a pipe wrench I can open it, but how could I connect the new drain from the washing machine to it? please help, very confused, but I know it can be done.

The pipe that you're unscrewing at floor level may be a clean-out fitting to snake the sewer line in the event of a clogged drain. This may not be an acceptable method to tie-in the WM drain line.
As Gary mentioned, there's quite a bit involved concerning proper connections for drainage and venting.
