|In response to Re: basement bathroom venting|
IF your description is accurate, then the toilet is being vented by the pipe to the lavatory. And a toilet less than 6 feet from the main does need a vent, unless it is the highest one on the pipe.
: i saw a post re: not needing venting for a toilet that has less than 6 feet to the main drain. Is this true in basements. Also, I looked more closely at our set-up and this is what we have: A 3" toilet drain, with a 2" running into it from the sink and a 2" running into it from the bathtub. The toilet drain then runs about 4' to the main. The tub is vented vertically up and connect to the sink vent. Is this reasonable that the toilet does not have a separate vent, but appears to wet vent through the sink? Thanks for your help.
