New home built on slab. Noticed a sweet yet moldy and disgusting smell in the first floor power room. Builder cut away part of wall and discovered small leak in copper pipe.
At same time we discovered crushed stone around the pipes going into the slab, and noticed even stronger oder there. Builder a bit too quickly cemented the area and said problem solved, but concern is what caused the very storng odor, and what is to stop it from finding another way in. Should I have someone drill down and take a soil or water sample? Thanks
