We have purchased a 1970 vintage house with a "sunken tub". We'd kind of like to keep it. It's kind of a novelty to take one step down into the tub. It's cast iron with what I would presume to be a Porcelain finish and a very non-skid surface built into the finish on the bottom of the tub. Can this finish be.....re-Porcelainized...(for lack of a better word)? Would the non-skid feature still be in place after the refinishing? Should we expect that the tub will look good as new? Is it durable? Is it cost effective?
