|In response to Re: removal of cast iron tub|
It is just what it sounds like. Dangerous and messy. I have always removed the tubs intact, but there is more than one way to do it, depending on how much help you have and how the area is constructed. If you are going to install a new tub, removing the old one would be good practice to see how to get the new one in.
: What would you suggest as the best way to remove a cast iron tub. Our house was built in the early 50's and the tub is built in in a tile surround, which I have already removed. Problem is we are trying to figure out the best way to get the tub out of the room to dispose of it. We have been told we can smash the tub in pieces, although that does sound a little dangerous and quite messy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
