In response to Re: American Standard Smart Valve 2000 problems
: I am having problems with the water fill timing on my toilet. It uses a Smart Valve 2000 fill valve, and it won't shut off when the water level reaches the top of the tank. Once the toilet is flushed, it will run (and the water will fun into the overflow tube) for about 2 or 3 minutes, and then it will (finally) shut off. Is there any way to adjust these "smart" valves or has it just gone bad? Thanks in advance for the help

Those valves give trouble. Remove it and install a Fluidmaster 400-A, it's easy enough to do and it will last (trouble free) for years.
Good Luck. e-plumber
