Sorry, you have some bad information. The problem is the drain IS clogged. The only "air lock" would be from not have a vented drain. Two things I can tell you. First, do not, repeat do not use a chemical drain cleaner. If you already have, tell the serviceman when, what, and how much was used. These don't work and create a hazzard for anyone working on the system. Second, do call a professional plumber who can professionally power auger the drain. I know it will cost something, but it's the only way, and DIY alternatives could cause damage the drain system that would cost far more to repair.
