It sounds like you have a HW heating system. Open the valve that you shut to do the repair and go to each radiator and open the bleeder until water comes out. Make sure the circulator(s) are off. If you have baseboard heating, you may have purge valves at the boiler for air removal. If you're uncomfortable doing it, call a professional.
