RC,
Take a drill bit and drill out some of the lead.
You will then be able to pry out the rest of the lead using an old screwdriver.

: I'm attempting to replace my drain to install a new shower. I have removed the slab around the pipe and still need to remove a short section of pipe that is coming up from the cast pipe. The pipe is loose but will not come out. I do not want to get to rough with it, for fear of loosening the pipes under the slab. Any advice on this? THANKS
