|In response to Re: toilet tank|
All the new toilets and tanks are for 1.6 gpf units. They will not flush your '88 toilet properly, so when they retooled for the new versions they intentionally changed the bolt pattern so they would not fit the older toilets. I am surprised that the bent bolts do not leak. The proper thing to do is replace the toilet. Since you already have the tank you will just need to purchase the new toilet bowl.
: WE bought our house new in "88, we have a Gerber Mark II tank, it recently got broken. All the replacement tank bolt patterns do not line up with the bowl. The old tank is 6 5/8, the new ones are 5 7/8, my husband bent the screws to make them go into the holes. I belive this should not be done, am I right? We can't find a repleacement tank anywhere. Help!
