After you replaced the thermostat once and had the same problem you should have checked to see what the real problem is. We don't know how your system is wired and controlled so we cannot tell you where to look, but whatever is controlling the pump seems to be the problem. The thermostat just operates that control.
: The house is up to temp and the Boiler doesn't shut off. You can hear it circulating the water and we have to shut it down. It will take the house to 80 degrees and still not shut off. We replaced the thermostat 3 times and still has the problem. The system is around 20 years old.
