In response to Re: help with heating
: i bought a new house and have baseboard water heating. My temp in the main rooms do not go above 72. I called a plumber who states that my boiler is too small and my baseboards are not good quality. I also want to finish my basement and he wants me to put a larger boiler and change the baseboards to a better one. help me as to what i shoud do and what i should ask him to make sure he is not taking me for a ride. what are better/cheaper options

Most, if not all heating systems are sized for the actual living space. There is the possibility that the house has had additions put on or a basement finished and heated, so the boiler could be too small.
My advise would be to have a couple of licensed plumbers look at the boiler and radiation, a heat loss can also be done to determine the exact size boiler that is required to work efficiently or maybe the boiler you now have can be adjusted to put out more heat.
Good Luck. e-plumber
