: : The "lead" laws have caused many manufacturers to go away from solid cast brass bodies. Now they may use copper tubing waterways surrounded by a shell which may be plated brass, or plated plastic. Delta, Kohler, American Standard, and many others offer lifetime warranty including the plated finish. Bottom line is , a more expensive faucet is more likely to actually last 20++ years. Warranty is good, but the labor of changing out the faucet every few years is NOT covered. My personal experiences: Delta is reliable and easy to repair when necessary; parts readily available. |
