|In response to Re: Replacing Water Main|
: Rather than digging an entire trench to expose the old water main, I'd like to dig 5 ft holes and use my pressure washer to blast the soil away between the 5 ft holes. Is this a good idea ?
Well, that might work, but you're going to end up with a lot of joints in the main, due to the short lengths of pipe you'll have to use to be able to angle them into the tunnel created by thte power washer. If it were me, I'd be happier with longer pieces of pipe and less joints.
With annealed copper, you *can* bend it quite a bit and "thread" it into the resulting tunnel, but it's gonna be a real pain to get straightened out again.
