I had a similar problem with a Delta single handle tub faucet on a rental I bought. Later when fixing a drip on the same kind in another unit, I noticed that if I assembled the guts 180 degrees (upside-down). The faucet worked fine except that the hot and cold were reversed. Did you do any work to the faucet itself? If so, you might want to check your work again to rule out an assembly error. : I have a problem with the hot and cold faucets in our house. When you turn on the cold water, most of the time it runs hot for a period of time (5-30 seconds). : Not warm but HOT water runs out. : I installed a deep sink fixture about the time this started and thinking I screwed somthing up I turned off the hot ware at the wall of the deep sink.
