In response to Re: Plumber's Putty or Bath and Kitchen Silicon?
: I am trying to replace a new lavatory sink on a laminate countertop. Books suggest to apply a bead of the putty under the porcelain sink. Is it OK to use a bath and kitchen silicon instead of the putty? What is the difference between the plumber's putty and the silicon?

Putty is oil based. Okay for laminate and porcelain but not for other surfaces. LonnythePlumber
