|In response to Re: Whirlpool Water Heater problem - brand new unit|
Whirlpool does not make water heaters. State, A.O. Smith, or some other company makes them and puts the Whirlpool name on them. Therefore, if it were a manufacturer's problem, that companies other heaters, and they usually make them with several different brand names, would have the same problem. You may have a gas pressure problem, poor ventilation, or some other situation that is not cured by replacing the heater, as one person discovered yesterday.
: I installed a new Whirlpool 40 gal natural gas unit today and the pilot will not light... this seems to be a constant problem with the Whirlpool water heaters - at least I've seen various pilot malfunctions in other posts. Seems as if the pilot light goes out over time and various parts have to be replaced, and often these do not solve the pilot problem... in a few days or months it happens again...
: Anyone else having problems with Whirlpool Water Heaters? Are they poorly designed and built or are they reliable?? thanks!!
