: I have a Crane Low Flow Toilet. The flapper keeps hitting the float which causes the toilet to run if not watched. I bought it in August at Lowes. When I looked at one last week in a good plumbing supply store the flapper and the float were a long ways from each other. Same style toilet in two different locations. I am puzzled by this and also what is the fix for this problem? Reply: I'm not exactly sure which type toilet that you purchased but try to move the float ball away from the path in which the flapper drops. There might just be a fraction of an inch in between when you're finished. You may even need to twist the fill valve slightly if there isn't a brass rod attached to the float ball. Good Luck. e-plumber
